Competition for the Smaakhaven experience center, Antwerp (B) won.

Located at the bend of the Schelde, at the northern end of the quays, the Loodswezen and the adjacent Boeienloods will play an important role in promoting the culinary qualities of the Flanders region to a local and international audience.

Our design respects the existing morphology of the historic building, but nevertheless unlocks new and unexpected opportunities for future use. In doing so, we seek a balance between the static reality of the existing structure and a movement towards openness and resilience.
