Bart Biermans

Architect, Founding Partner

Bart (1969, Antwerp, B) graduated as an architect at the Henry van de Velde Institute in Antwerp (B). He gained three years of experience at Neutelings Riedijk Architects (Rotterdam, NL) and subsequently became a partner at META architecture office (Antwerp, B). In 2004, together with Koen Drossaert, he founded the office HUB architecten.

With more than 20 years of experience, Bart works at the cutting edge of architecture and urban planning. He worked on a variety of projects in complex urban environments, often within dynamic contexts. His work for both public and private clients — including large public-private partnerships (PPS) — has given him a keen insight into the interests and processes of both parties. This makes him strong in investigative and negotiating design, with an eye for ambitious, feasible and supported solutions.

Bart is regularly active as an external jury member and as a guest lecturer at various universities. He is part of the Kempen Quality Chamber and sits on the AR-TUR Board of Directors (Turnhout, B).

At HUB architecten, he combines his content expertise with a role in the management team. He is partly responsible for communication, acquisition of new projects, and charting the office's strategic course.
